I frequently suggest to couples that we take their engagement photos at locations that are special to them. Most of the time these locations end up being a place where someone had grown up or where the couple had shared several dates or maybe just one significant and memorable date.
For Kari & Eric, that place was Boulder Field at Hickory Run State Park, about an hour away from Scranton.
As the story goes, this place wasn’t a first date, proposal site, or even a frequented location for them. It was much more significant than that. This was where they survived that moment of horrifying embarrassment when someone lets a little flatulence slip for the first time in front of their romantic interest.
Forever this place will be remembered as “The tip of the Fartberg”
So we found ourselves there on a pretty beautiful day and had a most excellent time hiking, exploring, and talking about life and their wedding in the fall of this year. I’m super excited for it and glad to call them friends and be able to do the wedding photography thing for them!
Eric took posing suggestions very well.
Suddenly – dancing!
Cute, Eric – but she’s gonna get you back.
Kari enjoys that cruel thing where you put your freezing hands on someone’s back and watch them squirm.
And then this – I really can’t explain it, but it’s awful cute.
Another of Eric’s attempts to follow posing instructions.
“So we hiked all the way out here with a window frame. What can we do that’s a little different than all the Pinterest photos we see with window frames?”
“Why don’t I just get my head stuck in it?”
Thanks again for the opportunity to share in telling your story to your friends and family. Enjoy these images and I’ll be looking forward to making more at the wedding!
