This year, I spent Memorial Day weekend capturing Jessica & Tom’s wedding celebration. It was an event of such magnificence that 24 hours couldn’t contain it! With their wedding being a bit later on friday evening, they decided gave their reception a day of it’s own so everyone could be rested and relaxed and enjoy the party.
Friday morning was a chance for Tom and his guys to get out and enjoy one last round of golf as a single man.
Got the tee, dirt clod, and ball all mid-flight. Love me the timing of this shot.
Did I mention that these guys were some pretty phenomenal golfers? Look at the teamwork…
Well played, good sir. Well played.
Meanwhile what the ladies morning looks like…
Tom really should have just gone to the salon with the ladies… That’s some serious hair product!
One of the funnier conversations I’ve heard in a while was the groomsmen plotting their revenge on Tom for having to wear real bow-ties. Especially since no one knew how to tie one. Thanks to the internet, however…
Green socks? Check.
Sisters of the bride putting on the final touches…
Stunning much?
And all ready to walk down the aisle…
Something I rarely see at a wedding, but really respect, was a time for the Bride, Groom, wedding party and all their attendants together to spend time in worship through singing. It shows to me a couple that hold their faith to be of the utmost importance in their own relationship.
A less than subtle message from the wedding party… no pressure.
Following the wedding, since they were having their reception the following day, we headed down to the Thomas Edison Inn, which afforded me the opportunity of getting some photos under the Blue Water Bridge.
I had some free time during the cocktails to set up this lovely little shot.
Saturday started out with finishing their wedding party photos.
And a chance to get some more fun shots with Jess & Tom…
And…time to party…
Tom even joined the band for a couple of songs… “Performed live music in a tuxedo.” can now be checked off the bucket list.
They went all out on the party… Photobooth included!
God bless their parents…
And a special thanks to this couple – they’ve actually graced my blog more than even my local friends have! Jacob and Kjersten were my first couple that I shot as a primary photographer. They’ve referred me two weddings since then! Kjersten even helped model for me while I was testing the lighting for the couch shots at the Inn on friday night. So here’s a shout-out to two awesome people!
Thanks again to Tom & Jessica for bringing me home for a week and the opportunity to catch up with so many good friends and family. I hope you enjoy the photos! I definitely had a great time making them.
Peace,
Bryan
